Digital Humanities is an interdisciplinary field that combines traditional humanities research with digital tools and methodologies. In this project, I explore how digital platforms can be used to analyze, interpret, and present cultural artifacts and experiences.
Stardew Valley, as a digital game, offers a unique lens through which we can examine themes of rural life, community, and sustainability. By combining game mechanics with narrative elements, Stardew Valley creates an immersive experience that allows players to engage with these themes in meaningful ways.
This project aims to demonstrate how digital humanities methodologies can be applied to the study of video games, providing new insights into both the game itself and the broader cultural context in which it exists.
About Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley is a farming role-playing game developed and published by ConcernedApe. The game follows the story of a character who leaves their corporate life in the city to return to their grandfather's old farm in the peaceful rural town of Pelican Town.
